Live music review: Buena Vista Social Club with Omara Portuando at ACL Live

Americans may not realize the impact Cuban music has had on our popular culture until they are reminded Ricky Ricardo of I Love Lucy was Cuban. Cuban music stars of the past still influence present day artists like Grupo Fantasma. The Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club's appearance at Austin's Moody Theater at ACL Live Friday represents the best of both Cuban music's past and present.

Live music review: Sunset Strip Music Festival | Motley Crue | Bush | Public Enemy | Matt and Kim

Los Angeles' Sunset Strip brings a myriad of images to mind. From the 60's rock of the Doors to the 70's punk era highlighted by The Germs and Black Flag to Jane's Addiction and The Red Hot Chili Peppers in the early 80's to this year's honorees, Motley Crue, the kings of LA glam rock of the late 80s. On their 30th Anniversary the Crue headlined theSunset Strip Music Festival which also featured Bush, Public Enemy, and Matt and Kim.

Live music review: Stone Temple Pilots rocked sold-out Austin City Limits Live

When Stone Temple Pilots (STP) announced their tour date at Austin City Limits Live (ACL  Live) we were ecstatic then aprehensive remembering vocalist, Scott Weiland's past issues with drugs and his myriad of stage mishaps including falling off the stage last time STP played Austin. Thankfully, Weiland kept those events unfortunate memories as he and the DeLeo brothers delivered a nearly flawless set...

Live music preview: Sunset Strip Music Festival set times announced

Los Angeles'  4th Annual Sunset Strip Music Festival has announced set times for next Saturday's streetfestival featuring Motley Crue, Bush, Public Enemy, Matt and Kim and more. The three day event includes shows inside venerable Sunset Strip venues such as The Whisky a Go-Go, The Roxy and Key Club.
