SXSW live music review: Perez Hilton, Built to Spill, The Cult, Mumford and Sons

When SXSW began announcing the 2012 bands invited to play last month, we noticed Built to Spill had scheduled a ton of festival performances which made us grin ear-to-ear. We also saw an eclectic line-up at the Austin Music Hall for Perez Hilton's One Night in Austin, met We Were Promised Jet Packs, saw The Cult at Waterloo Records' insane parking lot show and got up early to watch Keane and Citizen Cope perform inside the W Hotel followed by an interview with Mumford and Sons and Edward Sharpe by Andy Langer and Bryan Beck of KGSR radio.

Live SXSW music review: Delta Spirit, Springsteen, Quiet Company, Soldier Thread

With one half of SXSW music week behind us, we took a look back at the standout performances thus far. Rather than take the approach of skipping local acts we can see all year, Austin bands were mixed into our schedule with national acts. There were notable appearances by Spirit Animal, Delta Spirit, Bruce Springsteen, Ruthie Foster, Carolyn Wonderland, The Soldier Thread and Built To Spill.
