Live music preview: Fear and Loathing in Hotel Vegas and Hacienda at Blackheart

Austin music fans should feel like it is Christmas even though it is middle of summer because there is not one, but two free shows of note this week. The first happens tonight when Fear and Loathing in Hotel Vegas takes over not just HV, but the Volstead Lounge next door. The second, is Hacienda on Friday at new Rainey Street bar, Blackheart. The Hotel Vegas event will feature Christian Bland of the Black Angels with his band, the Revelators.

Weekend music preview: All My Friends | Battles | Hacienda | Zombie Uprising

A bye week for the University of Texas football team this weekend means there are a ton of Festivals happening in Austin. The Gypsy Picnic Tailer Food Festival, The Austin Film Festival and the Texas Book Festival are all happening over the first "real" weekend of Fall. Along with an event-packed schedule, there are so many great shows over the next couple of days; our live music preview only scratches the surface.
